On 8 December 2023, our Career Teacher, Mr. Leung and 19 students were honored to be invited to visit the office of AON Hong Kong Limited (AON). During the visit, our students have met the Director of China Global Solutions and the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner in AON. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them and gain valuable insights from their expertise.

The main objective of the activity was to provide our students with a firsthand understanding of industry practices in business, insurance, and management consulting, while offering them a broader view of the business and commercial sector in
Hong Kong. As our students entered the company premises, the Director took the time to introduce them to the company's background and generously shared his invaluable experience with them. His insights proved to be highly enlightening, and our students greatly benefited from the knowledge and expertise he imparted during the meeting.

After engaging in fruitful discussions, we were delighted to be given a guided tour of the office, where we were able to witness firsthand the remarkable working environment. Their office shows the wise application of AI, including their standing desks and
equipment used for online conference meetings. Employees have freedom to choose to stand or sit while working. Also, they usually have their discussions on a shared desk, so that communication barriers can be eliminated between people. These significant differences, compared to those traditional offices, provide employees a relaxing and comfortable place to work. This immersive experience provided them with valuable insights into the inner workings of a successful business.

During the Q&A session, the Director took the opportunity to share with students the invaluable techniques, emphasizing the importance of effective communication skills and adopting a growth mindset. These teachings not only expanded our students’
knowledge but also instilled them in a deeper understanding of how to thrive in the business world.

Another sharing from the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner also gave a clear direction of how our students could equip themselves better. He taught them to know more about themselves first and find their own career aspirations. Our students, as teenagers who
want to pursue their career, in the business sector, gain invaluable insights to start discovering their strengths and interests as early as possible.

Our students were impressed by their presentation and communication skills, how they put theory into practice is of paramount importance when working in any company. Their willingness to share about the insurance industry, working culture of AON and techniques for finding lifelong interests meant a lot to them, as hardly can they learn this knowledge from textbooks.

Lastly, the Director explained why he has stayed in Aon for 35 years. It is because of theAON spirit, “Keep on learning”. Thanks to this precious experience, the spirit will live on in our students’ memories for the rest of their lives.
