English Drama Society 2020-21 under Covid restrictions

Activities and Accomplishments

Oct and Nov 2020: Info Day Script Writing and Video Performance

This year we had about 50 students in our Drama Club. During our regular Monday meetings, students were put into 3 smaller groups due to Covid-19. One F5 Chairperson and a Teacher Advisor were in charge of one group. The students had to write and perform a short scene based on the theme, “Fears of a P6 Student Entering Secondary School”. All 3 groups were able to come up with a script, but due to the return of online learning mode in early December, only 1 group could finish filming their video. It has been uploaded onto the website.

March 2021: “Speak Up-Act Out! On Air! (Radio Drama)

Fifteen students participated in this EDB-sponsored English drama competition. This included writing a 3-5-minute script, based on a given stimulus and incorporating sound effects to read via zoom for the competition. For their first efforts in radio drama, they did an outstanding job! Congratulations!

Four teams were entered, and all performed brilliantly. Teams C & D were able to attend an Awards Ceremony at the EDB Headquarters in Kowloon Tong in late June.
