On 11 December 2024, our Career teacher, Mr. Leung, and six students from Form 5 were honored to be invited by our distinguished alumnus, Mr. David Lui, to visit the Hong Kong Children Hospital. This rare opportunity allowed us to explore the inner workings of the hospital and observe the daily operations of various medical professions.
During the visit, the doctors taught the students some first aid knowledge and how to use the AED defibrillator. Each professional introduced their daily work. Our students had the opportunity to visit an operating room and physiotherapy training rooms in the hospital. They mentioned that these restricted areas are rarely open to students for visits.
After the visit, they specially invited two doctors to share their career journeys. They shared their struggles and confusions in choosing subjects in high school and university, the pains and joys of their careers, and encouraged students to clearly recognise the career paths they like. The students all felt the enthusiasm and ambition of each doctor for their profession.
In conclusion, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our alumnus, Mr. Lui, for the invitation, and Mr. Lee, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Children Hospital and his team for making the necessary arrangements. Mr. Lee is also our alumnus! We eagerly anticipate our students' presentations, where they will share their experiences and insights with the rest of our students.
