On November 29th and 30th, BHJS joyfully hosted teachers and students from our sister school, Guangzhou No.5 Middle School. After our visit to them last year, we were excited to return their warm hospitality with an enthusiastic welcome featuring applause from our student ambassadors.
Day 1 Highlights:
We kicked off the visit with a reception at the English Corner, where students enjoyed drinks and egg tarts while chatting in Mandarin. This relaxed atmosphere quickly turned into new friendships. The formal welcoming ceremony in the Chapel included heartfelt speeches from Principal Law and our Student Union President, alongside inspiring words from Secretary Wang of Guangzhou No.5 Middle School. We also exchanged souvenirs that symbolize our strong bond.
After the ceremony, Jubileans led our guests on a campus tour, showcasing facilities like the Activity Center and Library. Our visitors were impressed by our focus on a tech-ready, well-rounded education.
The fun continued with sports activities like ‘Dragon Boat Rowing’ and a Golf Experience, followed by a shared lunch prepared by BHJS. This time allowed us to connect over our unique stories.
In the meantime, teachers from both schools also held a professional exchange seminar to share their experiences in academic, cultural, and student development.
In the afternoon, our guests participated in English lessons, where our students and teachers provided support, ensuring everyone had a rich learning experience. We concluded the day with a visit to the Hong Kong Palace Museum, exploring significant Chinese artifacts and deepening our appreciation of our cultural heritage.
Day 2 Adventures:
Our final day included a walk to the Man Mo Temple, where we learned about its history. We then visited the former Victoria Prison, captivated by its architecture.
We wrapped up our exchange over lunch, sharing contact information to stay connected. This two-day tour was both enjoyable and meaningful, fostering a spirit of cultural exchange. We thank everyone who made this visit possible and look forward to future collaborations!
