On July 13th, 30 students from BHJS stepped into the cold, fresh air of Auckland, New Zealand for their 2 week English Study Tour.

For 2 weeks, touring students made their way from their homestay, hosted by authentic local kiwis, to the renowned CROWN Institute of Studies for English lessons with foreign teachers. Their new temporary teachers taught them literary devices, idioms, writing skills and more through fun activities and worksheets. Students got to strengthen their English skills and experienced how kiwis had their education along the way.

In the afternoon, students were taken out to all kinds of exciting and meaningful outings. One of the most memorable destinations they went to was the Waitomo Cave, in which students drifted on a canoe through a cave with mesmerizing glowworms dotting the walls and roof of the cave creating a starry night like view. Other must-go places the tour went to included the Auckland War Museum, the Sky Tower and the Tip Top ice cream factory. Students enjoyed the foreign experience and took home more than just English skills from the tour.
