Fukui Environmental and Cultural Study Tour
2024-07-08

From June 28 to July 4, 5 teachers from our school led 39 students on a trip to Fukui Prefecture, Japan.

The students visited the Ōtaki Shrine to learn about Japanese shrine culture and customs. They also saw famous scenic spots like Echizen-en and Mikata Five Lakes, appreciating the beauty of nature.

The group also had the chance to interact with teachers and students from Fukui's Jichi University and Kōchi High School. They gained insights into the local school culture and educational philosophies.

During the trip, the students made traditional items like letter openers, lacquerware, dried fish, and mochi. They also participated in activities like weeding farmland, beach cleaning, canoeing, and experiencing summer fireworks, learning about local culture and environmental protection.

After the trip, the students gained a deeper understanding of Japan and Fukui. On the last night, they expressed their reluctance to leave, believing this was a valuable learning experience. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone involved in organizing this wonderful cultural exchange, including the teachers, guides, and all the related parties in Japan who ensured the smooth coordination of the trip. This experience has undoubtedly broadened the horizons of our school and students.
