On the 4th of September, we joyfully commenced the 2023-2024 academic year. Principal Ms. Law and school leaders were lined up at the school entrance, warmly greeting all students with smiles and welcoming them with adorable Jubliean keychains and delicious gummies. Their welcoming gestures filled the returning Jublieans with positivity, setting the tone for a cheerful new academic year.
The school opening ceremony began with angelic music performed by the school choir and orchestra. Reverend Cheung delivered inspiring words of guidance on the theme of "Be Light," emphasizing the importance of illuminating darkness. Principal Ms. Law followed with advice on setting smart and clear goals for ourselves and fostering an inclusive and respectful BHJS community. We hope all Jublieans will take these words to heart.
Following the ceremony, the two proposed Student Union cabinets, Cygnus and Epiphany, took the stage to introduce themselves and share their policies, welfare initiatives, and ambitions with the school. Both cabinets showcased their dedication and determination to serve the students of BHJS. We wish the best to both Cygnus and Epiphany.
Later, students returned to their respective classrooms for their first class teacher period of the academic year. Each student received a handbook, new composition papers and folders. Some classes took care of class affairs, such as voting for the class committee, while others focused on self-introductions to foster strong bonds among students.
We wish all students a wonderful and fruitful academic year. We would also like to express our gratitude and thanks to the BHJS janitors for their hard work in cleaning up our school after the devastating typhoon Saola, ensuring a smooth open day.
