BHJS Fukui Environmental and Cultural Study Tour
From June 29th to July 5th, a group of students from our school embarked on a cultural trip to Fukui, Japan. The trip was led by five knowledgeable teachers who guided the students through the history, culture, and stunning scenery of Fukui.
The trip was filled with a range of activities, including visits to museums, boat tours of the Sanmatsu Five Lakes, and experiences of sea exploration, fishing, kayaking, and beach cleaning. The students also had the opportunity to visit a farm and experience rural life, digging up potatoes and making mochi. Through these activities, the students were able to gain a deeper understanding of the unique characteristics of Fukui.
One of the highlights of the trip was the exchange with Japanese high school students from Wakasa High School. The students were warmly welcomed by the teachers and students of Wakasa High School, who led them on a tour of the school's ships and deepened their understanding of Japanese culture.
Throughout the trip, the students were able to experience the beauty and culture of Fukui, including visits to unique attractions such as the Kehi Shrine and Tojinbo. They also visited the Varve Museum and learned about the secret of varve, which enriched their knowledge and broadened their horizons.
The cultural trip to Fukui was a valuable opportunity for our students to experience a vibrant and energetic cultural journey. We would like to express our gratitude to all leading teachers for their guidance and support. We also thank the tour guides, homestays, and various reception teams for taking care of the students throughout the journey. We hope to provide more opportunities for our students to participate in similar cultural trips in the future.
