Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Athletics Meet was cancelled. Instead, the school arranged different adventure-based activities for students to learn outside the classroom.
On 19th October, cheers and excitement filled the basketball court. All form 1 & 2 students were actively engaged in different group activities including team building and trust games, whereas Form 3 students had a complete mental and physical boost from rock climbing and abseiling in the Activity Centre. Making it to the top of the wall was an amazing experience. Overcoming the fear of height by abseiling down the new building from the 3/F was surely a confidence booster for them. Some teachers also tested their capabilities and courage by trying out this extreme activity.
On 20th October, there were intense inter-class and inter-house competitions, jointly organized by the Student Union and the school. The first event was the inter-class dodgeball competition. Both students and teachers threw balls and hit opponents. They tried hard to avoid being hit. Eventually, class 6A won against all senior classes. After that, the basketball court was transformed into a football court to hold the inter-house football competition. At the end, Blue House won by one goal to zero against Red House. The champion of the inter-house football competition was invited to have a friendly match with the teacher team. This nail-biting match did not fail to disappoint both spectators and player. Finally, it was a resounding victory for the teacher team with a score of nine to two.
Having all the adventure-based activities and competitions in these two days, students were encouraged to build trust and confidence. The physical challenges also enhanced students’ ability to communicate, cooperate and work in a team. Both teachers and students had a lot of fun!
