During the summer holiday, some of our F.3 and F.4 students joined the Oral History Interview Project about Kowloon History, which was jointly organised by the Hong Kong Baptist University and the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. It provided a golden opportunity for our students to discover Hong Kong's history outside the classroom by conducting a series of oral interviews with graduates and teachers from the School of Nursing, which was run by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals from the 1960s to 1990s.
Also, the visit to the Assembly Hall and Heritage Centre of Tung Wah Hospital not only broadened student’s horizons about Tung Wah Hospital’s contribution to the social development of Hong Kong, but also nurtured them with the value of cultural and heritage conservation. Through the collaborative effort between our students and History students from the Hong Kong Baptist University, it is hoped that this project will raise public awareness about the history of public health in Hong Kong in the future.
