Two of our students, Charlene Fong and Sophia Yau, attended the 27th IAVE World Volunteer Conference at Busan, South Korea representing Hong Kong alongside with several alumni of us.
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol delivered the opening address to volunteers gathered for the said event on 22 October 2024. Over thousands of volunteers from over one hundred countries attended this conference.
In the cultural gathering of the conference, participants dressed up to showcase their own traditional culture. There were traditional Korean music and dance performance as well.
Charlene and Sophia actively participated in the conference, making friends with volunteers from other countries and raising question in the conference.
They also had chances to visit the Gyeongju National Museum, Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond and Daereungwon Tomb Complex. They earned a better understand to the traditional culture of Korea.
After coming back to Hong Kong, they will share their experience with the media and submit a report to the Agency for Volunteer Service, promoting social services.
