2016-17 英語即興創作戲劇比賽「Speak Out Act Up」 返回
On Tuesday the 28th of March, six of our students participated for the first time in the EDB-sponsored English Drama competition called Speak Out Act Up. This is an annual improvisation competition where students from various schools are given a topic two weeks before the competition and must write and perform one (of two) five minute English Drama scripts they have written and rehearsed. The script that they perform is picked out of an envelope 5 minutes before the performance, so students do not know which scene they will perform until that moment – this is what makes the competition “improvisation” as the scene is chosen “on the spot”.
This year the topic was “It Happened In…” and each school was given 2 countries. BHJS was given NEW ZEALAND and INDIA. Six students worked together to research and write two scripts with these countries in mind. On the day of the performance, BHJS chose INDIA and performed their script in front of 10 other schools. Their script and performance was awarded a coveted team prize of “BEST USE OF LANGUAGE”.
